Play Day

Play Day, the 5th of August each year, is a national event with a different theme each year; for the past three years we celebrated this in Lambeth.
2006: Natural Play. So we made a GPS line through the park and lined it with flower sticks, which the young people made.
2007: Reclaim the Streets. A large map of Lambeth with all the road names was made and we “Renamed the Streets”. Some were funny, but also sad ones from some young people due the recent gun crimes.
2008: Risk In Play. A bed of six-inch nails was made. Every child, and lots of adults tried the bed out, some found it very relaxing!
